Alison Tyler, Beacon’s Technical Director had the opportunity to teach Medical Products Packaging at RIT this spring as adjunct faculty.

The class was a senior level elective and focused on Medical Device Packaging and also included Pharmaceutical Packaging. The entire course was modeled around ISO11607 and AAMI TIR22.

The students learned about the different types of medical device packages, materials, sterilization and had assignments in which they utilized various ASTM standards, using AAMI TIR22 to guide them. Read more.
